Inka started her organic career twenty years ago in Ireland by growing vegetables, keeping livestock, and learning about farming and life. After studying organic agriculture in Witzenhausen (Germany), topped up with food technology at the University of Perugia and organic inspection & certification at AIAB Umbria (Italy) she joined the IFOAM-Organics International head office in Bonn for an internship. Later she supported the organic agency artebio – Alexandra Thöring in Lüneburg in trade mediation, sourcing, purchasing and quality consultancy for processors and cooperatives throughout Europe. As project manager for EkoConnect- Centre for Organic Agriculture of Central and Eastern Europe in Dresden she further conducted market studies, events/seminars as well as teachings and trainings for different target groups in CEE countries.
Inka joined the team in 2014. She is responsible for natural fertilization and soil fertility concepts, as well as sustainability assessments and strategy consulting. She also implements workshops and trainings on composting and sustainable agricultural practices in English, German, Spanish and French language.
She has been passionate about organic farming and its international movement. Whenever she’s not visiting farmers abroad, she is growing her own organic vegetables in Hamburg.
