Senior Consultant Impact Assessment (m/f/d)

We want to help growers and retailers in being sustainable: Reaching their crop yield, adding to soil quality, and managing and adapting to risks faced. To broaden our impact beyond our established consultancy business, we are building digital tools for assessing and reducing risks and adapting to existing and coming changes.

We want you to work with us in bringing this vision to life.

Your tasks

  • You understand, analyse and model impacts (carbon- and water-footprints) in clients’ operations and supply chains
  • You are contributing and testing developed digital solutions based on publicly available data, data collection forms and webservices
  • You are a project management lead in our projects
  • You are leading our junior team colleagues
  • You are supporting the development and implementation of SMI’s agriculture-based insetting projects
  • You are monitoring and developing all measures that are used at SMI to the next level
  • You are a skilled representative of SMI and identify cross-selling opportunities

Your profile

  • You have a strong background in Carbon foot printing (Product Carbon Footprint, Corporate Carbon Footprint) and are familiar with the relevant standards (GHG protocol, ISO, PAS)
  • You are familiar with life cycle assessment incl. relevant datasets and software
  • Experience in the food and farming sector is an asset
  • You are both, analytical & pragmatic/solution-oriented (“getting things done”) in a very structured manner
  • Communication skills, client orientation, initiative, and result orientation are among your strengths
  • You can work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment as a team player with stakeholders in all areas of the company
  • You like to work as a mentor and enjoy guiding junior team members as you already have experience in doing so

Your qualifications

  • MSc-level in studies like environmental analytics, agricultural science, environmental economics, sustainability-related studies with strong numerical skills and 4+ years of working experience
  • Profound proficiency in MS Excel (i.a. Power Query/Pivot) and Life Cycle Analysis
  • Fluent German and English are mandatory, any other language is desirable
