Rainer joined Soil & More Impacts in 2014. He is mainly responsible for R&D and project implementation in agriculture and agroforestry, especially in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa. This includes on-site and remote assessments of soil fertility and raw material security. On the other hand, it comprises designing the scientific basis of the company’s projects, emission reduction projects and sub-model development of a True Cost Accounting tool.
Previous stations were at Perspectives Climate Change GmbH where he contributed to international carbon projects. After graduating at Technical University of Dresden (Germany) in Physical Geography (2005), he developed a science background at universities in Germany and Spain in soil science, matter balancing and sampling campaigns. He is currently also involved in a PhD project about modeling carbon losses from agricultural soils.
