Inka joined SMI in 2014 to do supplier assessments & development. She offers consultancy and training on soil fertility, composting and climate resilience, leads natural fertilization and emission reduction projects, and looks after the growing Hamburg team.
She is an agronomist who has spent 20+ years in the international organic sector, focusing on production, certification, lobbying, product trade & quality, marketing and capacity building. Her motivation is to safeguard the environment by encouraging and enabling people to create sustainable, locally-adapted and diversified agricultural systems.
Whenever she’s not visiting farmers abroad, she is in her own field growing organic vegetables in Hamburg.
