Rainer joined Soil & More in 2014. He is mainly responsible for R&D, knowledge management and project implementation in agriculture and agroforestry, especially in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa. This includes on-site and remote assessments of soil fertility and raw material security. On the other hand, it comprises designing the scientific basis of the company’s projects, carbon sequestration projects and submodel development of a risk assessment tool.
Previous stations were at Perspectives Climate Change GmbH where he contributed on international carbon projects. After graduating at Technical University of Dresden (Germany) in Physical Geography (2005), he developed a science background at universities in Germany and Spain in soil science, soil carbon and sampling campaigns. In 2020, he successfully finished his PhD project about the detection of changes in agricultural soils of a German soil monitoring network.
