GHG Emission Reduction

GHG Emission Reduction

GHG Emission Reduction - Carbon Credits through composting: Our composting technique was approved as a GHG emissions reduction method in compliance with UNFCCC standards. Applicability to projects depends on various regional and environmental circumstances.

Soil & More is one of the first companies generating Carbon Credits (verified emission reductions) from composting, implementing an UNFCCC approved methodology. Most of our compost is produced using unwanted plant and animal material which – if not used for composting – would have been dumped and left to rot, thus emitting methane.

During the composting process, these methane emissions are avoided and tradable Carbon Credits are generated. All our projects are verified by a DOE (Designated Operational Entity, accredited by the UNFCCC). Not all composting projects qualify as an emission reduction project. Applicability to projects depends on various regional and environmental circumstances.

Carbon Credits generated by Soil & More are high quality credits, as they:

  • Are embedded into the agricultural supply-chain
  • Generate income to make compost projects feasible.
  • Are independently verified by an UNFCCC accredited third party.
  • Can be derived from small, - medium and large scale projects.

Furthermore, each of our projects stimulates the local economy and provides people with year round employment. Our Carbon Credits are tradable VERs registered at MarkIt registry.
